Turn your PDFs into editable Word documents.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

How do you convert a PDF to Word?

Use Acrobat or a Word version that opens PDFs, then compare the result with the source.

  1. Inspect the source

Check selectable text and identify complex tables in the PDF.

  2. Prepare scans

If needed, run OCR in a capable editor using the document language.

  3. Create a DOCX

Export to Word in Acrobat, or open the PDF in Word.

  4. Compare the layout

Check columns, footnotes and page breaks against the original.

This guide explains the general workflow in an application that supports the operation. This version offers file selection and type/size checks; it does not generate processed output.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about the workflow, file quality, and situations you may encounter.

Will the layout stay identical?

Text-heavy documents convert more reliably; columns and footnotes may need manual adjustment.

Does a scanned PDF need OCR?

Image-only text needs OCR; choose the correct language and review the recognized text.

Why can tables look different?

A PDF may store lines and text positions without cell relationships, so table structure must be interpreted.

Should I choose DOC or DOCX?

Prefer DOCX for current Word workflows; DOC is the format associated with older Word versions.

Why might fonts change?

Custom font availability and embedding permissions affect results; inspect characters and line breaks after conversion.

Can I complete the operation and download a file on this page?

This version supports file selection and checks of file type, size, and count. Processing is not connected, so it does not convert, edit, or generate downloads. The guide describes a workflow in an application that supports the operation.

Which file types and sizes can I select?

This tool accepts PDF file extensions. You can select up to 20 files, with a 25 MB per-file limit and 100 MB total. Checking an extension does not verify that the file contents are valid or undamaged.

Are my selected files sent to a server?

In this version, file contents are not read or uploaded. Selections stay in the tab’s memory and are cleared on refresh. File names, extensions, and sizes are used only to display and check your selection.
