STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

How do you convert a PDF to Excel?

Use an XLSX-capable application such as Acrobat and set table and numeric options.

  1. Inspect the tables

Check rows, columns and numeric separators in the PDF.

  2. Plan the worksheets

Choose worksheets per table, page or document where supported.

  3. Configure conversion

Select XLSX, numeric separators and an OCR language if needed.

  4. Verify the cells

Compare row alignment and critical values with the PDF in Excel.

This guide explains the general workflow in an application that supports the operation. This version offers file selection and type/size checks; it does not generate processed output.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about the workflow, file quality, and situations you may encounter.

Can each table become a separate worksheet?

Acrobat offers worksheet creation per table, PDF page or entire document.

Why do decimal values look wrong?

Match the export settings for decimal and thousands separators to the source PDF’s number format.

How should I prepare numbers in scanned tables?

Set the OCR language and use suitable scan tools to improve skewed or noisy pages.

Why are multiline cells split?

A PDF connector can misidentify multiline records; cleaning or combining rows may be necessary.

How can I preserve leading zeros?

Treat identifiers as text; formatting cannot always restore zeros already removed during numeric conversion.

Can I complete the operation and download a file on this page?

This version supports file selection and checks of file type, size, and count. Processing is not connected, so it does not convert, edit, or generate downloads. The guide describes a workflow in an application that supports the operation.

Which file types and sizes can I select?

This tool accepts PDF file extensions. You can select up to 20 files, with a 25 MB per-file limit and 100 MB total. Checking an extension does not verify that the file contents are valid or undamaged.

Are my selected files sent to a server?

In this version, file contents are not read or uploaded. Selections stay in the tab’s memory and are cleared on refresh. File names, extensions, and sizes are used only to display and check your selection.
